Baptism
Prerequisites to Baptize:
- Parents need to attend two pre-baptismal classes.
- The first class is for parents only. For class dates and time, call the rectory. No children.
- Parents who are not married by the Church will have to meet with a clergy member or deacon before scheduling a date for the baptism. Call the rectory for this appointment.
- Parents and godparents must attend the second class.
- Children who are over 7 years old will need to receive special preparation. Please contact the Catechism office at 714.956.3461.
- Register your child's Baptism ceremony at the rectory. You will need to bring the following:
- Registration form given to you at the classes.
- A copy of the child's birth certificate. (No hospital certificate.)
- Proof of attending the classes.
- Infant Baptisms are usually on the second Sunday of the month at 2:00 PM. The Spanish Baptisms are usually on every first Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM and the first and third Sundays of the month at 2:00 PM.
Note for Godparents:
- Not be minors.
- Practicing Catholic(s).
- If married, married by the Catholic Church.
- No more than two godparents. One godparent is okay.
- If two godparents, must be a man and a woman.
