Deacon José Luis Rodriguez
My family moved from a small town in the state of Jalisco, Mexico to the US when I was 11 yrs of age. I have an AA degree on general business plus other units. When I was 21 years old, I got drafted into the Army and sent to Korea for 13 months. I worked as a telephone reporter for a publishing company before being hired by the telephone company. I worked for AT&T as a systems technician, and later as a full-time Realtor for nearly 20 yrs. I still hold my license but not presently active.
I now work for the State of California as an EDD (Employment Department) customer service representative. My lovely wife, Alicia, and I have been married for nearly 37 years. We have a daughter, Veronica, and two lindos nietos Joel and Gianina, 5 and 4 and have a son at home, Louie.
After my marriage and kids, the highlight of my life was when I was ordained Deacon over three years ago. I have to confess that I was at first a little hesitant going into this ministry but now I would not change it for the world. I have had so many countless blessings that it's almost unreal. One of the blessings is being assigned to St. Boniface where there are so many loving and generous people that make me feel blessed over and over.
